Dear church Family,
What a difference a few weeks make! We are in uncharted waters for everyone alive today. Please make the effort to follow the guidelines for protection from the spreading of this virus. In Psalm 46 David writes to us “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall. Be still and know that I am God. The lord Almighty is with us.”
This is a special time to turn to God for strength. May we all be still, and know the goodness and power of God in our lives. May we rest in the promise that God is with us right now.
Our church has ordered 60 more copies of the daily devotional called the Upper Room. This is the 2020 March-April edition. The Oasis class has already distributed 25 of these. Beginning next week, we want to distribute these to every family of our congregation. They will be on a chair, outside of the door by the upstairs piano on Saturday, March 21, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. They will be available at the same spot on Tuesday, March 24, from 9:30 am – 12:00 noon. Ask you Deacon to get one to you if needed. We are asking each person to use this devotional on a daily basis. This way we can all be on the same theme. We can share our thoughts, inspirations, and joys and concerns on the Deacons prayer email at email@example.com. We have always said that the church is more than a building. Now we must all live into this truth. Please use the church directory as a prayer guide. Take four families a day, and pray for them. Also, pray for the persons on the first page, listing the leadership and church board.
Please remember the church in you weekly giving. Our fixed costs continue. Please send you envelop through the mail; the address is printed on them.
As Paul concluded his letter to the stressed church at Ephesus he wrote, “Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power…so that when the day of evil comes, you might be able to stand…keep on praying for all the saints.” May you rest securely in God’s love today! I am praying for you.
